Crew Member Discloses Mental Health Struggle Following ‘Tsunami of Harassment Following Journey

A pioneering space traveler has spoken candidly about her battle with depression after enduring a “tsunami of harassment” in the wake of a historic all-female space mission.

The 34-year-old activist – recognized as a researcher and activist – was part of the 11-minute suborbital flight earlier this year, which also carried well-known figures.

Reflecting on the experience, the astronaut, who made history as the pioneer for her community, stated the negative reaction buried her dreams under an landslide of gendered hatred.
