Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a bizarre crossover event that challenges usual forecasts, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Disclosed
According to the formal release, "A strange confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of banned rituals and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The plot presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine sect.
The adventure focuses on "bizarre trials and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Transformations
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Bonus Material
Players who accomplish the quest will acquire an unique katana in addition to multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Update
This release also introduces the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma."
